Global Survivor Council (for VAC Ministerial): Terms of Reference

Project Background:

The Global Ministerial Conference on Ending Violence Against Children, slated for November 7-8, 2024, in Bogota, Colombia, signifies a pivotal moment in the global campaign against violence affecting children. Co-led by the governments of Colombia and Sweden and organized in collaboration with key entities such as WHO, UNICEF, and the SRSG-VAC, this conference represents a significant gathering of Ministers and high-level policymakers dedicated to child protection.

With ambitious goals to secure new political and financial commitments for preventing and ending violence against children, the conference aims to spark transformative policy shifts in favor of child safety and well-being. A key aspect of the conference’s approach is ensuring the inclusion of survivor voices, both during the event and in national consultations leading up to it.

To facilitate this inclusion, Brave Movement has been tasked with coordinating the Global Survivor Council (GSC), comprising individuals from survivor-led networks worldwide who can address all forms of violence against children. The GSC will play a crucial role in ensuring survivor perspectives shape the design and delivery of the conference, with a focus on creating a safe and supportive environment for all members.
