Disability Support Project Phase 4 is a partnership project of MTN Foundation and Independent Living for People with Disabilities. This project seeks to support persons with disabilities in the following 11 States and the FCT: Adamawa, Anambra, Benue, Cross River, Delta, Ebonyi, Kebbi, Lagos, Oyo, Sokoto, Taraba, and FCT Abuja, through provision of mobility aids and appliances to improve their accessibility and socio/economic status.
The objectives of the Project are:
- To identify persons with disabilities with genuine need for mobility aids and appliances;
- To improve accessibility and functionality through the provision of 5, 000 branded mobility aids and appliances e.g. appropriate wheelchairs, crutches, guide canes, calipers, hearing aid, talking phones, Stylus & mar bugs and Braille machines;
- To ameliorate poverty and provide inclusion for persons with disabilities through the provision of mobility aids and appliances;
This project only supports people with Physical Impairment, Visual Impairment and Hearing Impairment. Mobility Aids and Appliances, Hearing Aids and Visual Aids up to 5, 000 free of charge to persons with disabilities across; Adamawa, Anambra, Benue, Cross River, Delta, Ebonyi, Kebbi, Lagos, Oyo, Sokoto, Taraba States and FCT Abuja.
Our Field Officers have started administering Vulnerability Index Assessment Form since yesterday 27th May 2013 with the view to identifying prospective beneficiaries of the Project in the states mentioned above. This assessment exercise will last till 28th June 2013.
NGOs, FBOs and/or CSOs are welcomed to help us facilitate the success of this project in your State.
