Circumciser down-tool, supports #Act2endFGM in Ibarapa

Mr Ganiyu Ismail – a circumciser in Ayete Community of Ibarapa North LGA of Oyo state revolted against the campaign to eliminate FGM in his community because of his strong believe in the practices of FGM.

He had a change of mind after attending several UNICEF funded program in his community and he is now leading the campaign to endFGM amongst the Local Circumcisers and Muslims.
According to him; “We have practiced FGM due to ignorance, beliefs and misconception about it. Now we have adequate knowledge about FGM and we are convinced that it harmful and no benefit about it that is why we are supporting that FGM should be eliminated”
