Collaborative Efforts to End FGM in Kwara State

As part of our commitment to eliminating Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) in Kwara State, Trailblazer Initiative Nigeria (TBI), alongside four other implementing NGOs, participated in a programme planning and inception meeting with the Commissioner and Officials of the Kwara State Ministry of Women Affairs. This meeting marks a crucial step in hitting the ground running on the UNFPA-supported activities aimed at eradicating FGM across the state.

The meeting provided an opportunity to align strategies, define roles, and establish a collaborative framework to ensure the successful implementation of the program. Together, we explored how to engage key stakeholders, including community leaders, religious leaders, and local influencers, to drive grassroots advocacy and behavioral change.

By working in partnership with the Ministry of Women Affairs and leveraging the collective expertise of all participating NGOs, we are paving the way for impactful and sustainable action. Our shared goal is to create a future where girls and women in Kwara State can live free from the harms of FGM and enjoy their full rights and dignity.

Together, we can achieve a future without FGM!
