With the support of UNFPA Nigeria, Trailblazer Initiative Nigeria (TBI) successfully conducted a Town Hall Meeting and Community Dialogue in Eyenkorin, Asa LGA, Kwara State. This initiative brought together Traditional Leaders, Religious Leaders, and other Influential Stakeholders, focusing on collaborative efforts to eliminate Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) in the community.
The dialogue served as a platform to discuss the harmful effects of FGM on the health, rights, and well-being of women and girls. It also fostered collective understanding and encouraged these leaders to champion the fight against FGM within their communities. Their influence and commitment are pivotal to changing long-standing social norms and ensuring sustainable progress toward ending this harmful practice.
Through this engagement, TBI continues to amplify the voices of grassroots advocates and empower communities to take ownership of this critical issue. We are committed to working hand in hand with local leaders to ensure a future free from FGM for every girl and woman in Kwara State.
