INTERNATIONAL DAYS COMMEMORATED IN 2023

1. International Day of Zero Tolerance to Female Genital Mutilation (IDZT) – International Day of Zero Tolerance to Female Genital Mutilation (IDZT) is commemorated every year on the 6th of February.

The 2023 theme was “Partnership with Men and Boys to Transform Social and Gender Norms to End Female Genital Mutilation”.

Trailblazer initiative Nigeria held advocacy dialogue with Influential leaders in Ilero and Gbonje Communities of Kajola LGA on the elimination of Female Genital Mutilation in commemoration of the day. TBI also commemorated International Day of Zero Tolerance to Female Genital Mutilation (IDZT) with social media activities on all our social media platfoms such as facebook live sessions, twitter and facebook sensitization through posts and infographs etc

2. International Women’s Day (IWD) – IWD is commemorated every year on the 8th of March. The purpose of the day is to uphold women’s achievements, recognize challenges, and focus greater attention on women’s rights and gender equality.

The 2023 theme is “Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality”.

TBI commemorated IWD on all her social media platforms on the importance of women’s involvement in digital innovation and technology.

3. International Day of the Girl Child – IDGC is commemorated every year on the 11th of October. The 2023 theme is “Invest in Girls’ Rights: Our Leadership, Our Wellbeing.”

TBI commemorated IDGC on all her social media platforms by sensitization on the importance of providing equal opportunities for girls while ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for their growth.

4. 16 Days Activism against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) – The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) is an annual international campaign that kicks off on 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and runs until 10 December, Human Rights Day.

TBI commemorated these days on all her social media platforms and visited Mufutau Lanihun school lending a voice to the victims of violence to speak up on all forms of violence.

5. World Aids Day – The World Aids Day is commemorated every year on the 1st of December.

TBI commemorated this day on all her social media platforms raising the awareness about HIV/AIDS.
