Dr Dare Olagoke-Adaramoye
Dare is a Child’s right and gender advocate with over 10 years’ experience in the fields of Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), Child Protection, Gender Advocacy, HIV/AIDS and youth advocacy. He spent his early years working with MTN Foundation, Independent Living Programme for Persons with Disabilities and HelpAidsOrphans.com. Dare has a Bachelor of Technology Degree in Human Anatomy and Master’s Degree in Public Health from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Oyo State; Executive MBA in Health and Safety Management from Taraba Business School, Jalingo with extensive trainings in the non-profit sector within and outside Nigeria. He holds a honorary Doctor of Humanity from Prixton Church and University, USA
Dare is passionate about child and women development, and elimination of harmful traditional practices such as FGM.
Dare is in the forefront of ensuring that policies, laws and structures are put in place for the protection of women and children in Oyo State and Nigeria at large. In 2010, he founded Trailblazer Initiative Nigeria – a youth/women-led, Non-Governmental Organization promoting Child and Women’s Right, Sexual and Reproductive Health + Rights, Policy Advocacy etc through sustainable programmes at the grassroots level, rural and urban communities. Dare, a #HeforShe advocate, believes that when men and boys become advocates and challenge our patriarchal society, we can achieve gender equality faster by eliminating harmful traditional practices and protecting the rights of women and girls. He is committed to seeing this happen in his community, which is why he became a woman’s rights advocate!
Dr Dare is currently the Oyo State Team Lead of the UNICEF Youth and Social Media advocacy team on the elimination of FGM. He sits on the board of trustees of many organizations and has received several awards and honors both home and abroad
Dare gained international recognition due to hard work and selfless services to humanity in 2010 and was appointed as the Key Researcher in Nigeria and other African Countries for Helporphans.com and Member, Africa AIDS Plan by Africa AIDS Fund Inc.; an organization based in Atlanta Georgia, USA through which Dare had the opportunity to Research the number of Children Rendered orphan by AIDS in Africa, type and cost of immunization needed by these orphans.
In the same year 2010, Dare Pioneered a branch of Global Youth Coalition on HIV/AIDS (GYCA) in Ekiti State and Served as the Focal Point of the organization in Ekiti State.
Dare is the International Coordinator of Administration at Global Youth Coalition against Cancer, a Member of Global Youth Coalition on HIV/AIDS (GYCA), Member of Nigerian Youth Climate Coalition (NYCC), Member of Youth Network on HIV/AIDS (NYNETHA), an Alumnus of Eden Nigeria, member of Health Reform Foundation of Nigeria (HERFON), Visionary and of Nigeria Agents of Positive Change (NAPOC) and also Ekiti State Coordinator of Greenlight Youth Empowerment Initiative.
He was the Oyo State Coordinator of Youth WASH Africa, Project Manager at Joseph Ayo Babalola Memorial Foundation. He is currently working on project called Disability Support Project; a project sponsored by MTN Foundation Nigeria in collaboration with independent Living Programme for People with Disabilities. This Project seeks to support persons with disabilities through provision of mobility aids and appliances to improve their accessibility and socio/economic status and encourage self-sustenance & self-reliance of persons with disabilities accross Nigeria. This project has so far provided 20,000 free mobility aids and appliances for persons with disabilities in the 36 states of Nigeria and FCT. The 5th phase of this project is currently ongoing in Abia, Bauchi, Enugu, Edo, Gombe, Katsina, Kogi, Kwara, Ogun, Ondo, Rivers and Zamfara States.
This very talented web & Graphics designer, public speaker with international recognition, a writer, social entrepreneur and a blogger per excellent, holds a Bachelor Degree in Human Anatomy from College of Medicine, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso and many other academic qualifications to his credit. He has received many awards and recognitions both in Nigeria and overseas.
