As Nigeria marks another Democracy Day, Trailblazer Initiative Nigeria (TBI) celebrates the strength of our nation’s democratic journey and calls for renewed commitment to building a country where every child, woman, and youth can live free from fear, poverty, and injustice.
We believe democracy is not just about elections—it is about people. It is about ensuring that the most vulnerable in our society—especially children and women—are protected from all forms of violence, and that every Nigerian enjoys equal access to opportunities, justice, and freedom.
As we commemorate this day:
-
We call for an end to poverty through inclusive development policies that reach grassroots communities.
-
We reaffirm our stand to end violence against children and gender-based violence, which continue to harm our future.
-
We advocate for strong institutions, transparent leadership, and citizen participation, which are the pillars of good governance.
Despite challenges, we see a bright future—a Nigeria where democracy works for all. A Nigeria where girls are safe, boys are nurtured, communities thrive, and leaders serve with integrity.
Let this day remind us that the true power of democracy lies in our unity, our resilience, and our collective action to build a just, peaceful, and prosperous nation.
Happy Democracy Day, Nigeria!
Together, we can shape a better tomorrow
