Adolescent stage is a phase of human development characterized by rapid biological and psychological changes. This stage is often considered as a relatively healthy stage of life.
In a bid to achieve SDG3 and SDG5, Trailblazer Initiative Nigeria implemented several activities in 8 secondary schools within Oyo state. The aim of these activities was to equip these adolescents with adequate knowledge about their Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights and also to educate, train and re-train them to be health educators/peer educators.
OBJECTIVES
- To create awareness and sensitize adolescent girls on menstrual hygiene and management.
- To reduce period poverty among adolescents through distribution of free sanitary pads.
- To educate adolescent girls about FGM and its various complications.
- To equip adolescent girls with adequate knowledge about the various types of gender-based violence through counseling.
