TBI Partners with UNFPA to Eliminate FGM in Asa LGA, Kwara State

We are thrilled to announce that Trailblazer Initiative Nigeria, with the support of UNFPA,  conducted Town Hall Meetings and Community Dialogues aimed at eliminating Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) in four communities in Asa LGA, Kwara State: Eyenkorin, Ogele, Pampo, and Otte-Oja. These engagements will bring together Traditional Leaders, Religious Leaders, and other Influential Stakeholders to promote dialogue and foster collective action to end this harmful practice.

To kickstart the program, our team—led by our Executive Director @dareadaramoye, project implementation team, and TBI Kwara Field Staff—along with a representative of the Kwara State Ministry of Social Development, embarked on advocacy visits to the traditional leaders in the target communities.

These visits are a critical step towards securing community buy-in and strengthening partnerships with local leaders, who play a pivotal role in driving change at the grassroots level.

Together, we are committed to ensuring that girls and women live free from harmful traditional practices. Stay tuned as we continue to champion this cause and work towards eliminating FGM in Kwara State.

Together, we can build a future of dignity and equality for all.
