With support from UNICEF Nigeria, the Trailblazer Initiative Nigeria held Town hall meetings/Community Dialogue targeted towards dissemination of existing information, research, etc. and increase research uptake on elimination of harmful practices, #FGM, #childmarriage, #GBV and #VAWC and community hubs for innovation in Kajola LGA (Gbonje and Ilero Communities), and Ibarapa East LGA (Eruwa and Lanlate Communities).
The meeting is in continuation of what Trailblazer Initiative earlier last month in Ibarpa North LGA (Ayete and Igangan communities) where over 200 stakeholders and community members had gathered towards dissemination of existing information, research, etc. by TBI and Youth Activists and increase research uptake on elimination of harmful practices, #FGM, #childmarriage, #GBV and #VAWC and community hubs for innovation.
We had fruitful deliberations as stakeholders and community members agreed that Female Genital Mutilation, Gender-based Violence, Child Marriage and Violence against Women and Children is harmful and thus should be eliminated.
Participants at the meeting pledged to advocate, sensitize and create awareness about consequences of FGM, GBV, VAWC and Child Marriage.
