As part of our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safeguarding, accountability, and ethical conduct, Trailblazer Initiative Nigeria (TBI) recently conducted its biannual in-house training on Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) for staff members.
The training, facilitated by our Executive Director, Dr. Dare Olagoke-Adaramoye, provided a comprehensive refresher on the principles of safeguarding, recognizing and preventing sexual exploitation and abuse, reporting mechanisms, survivor-centred approaches, staff responsibilities, and the importance of creating safe environments for beneficiaries, communities, partners, and colleagues.
At TBI, safeguarding is not a one-time activity but an ongoing commitment. Through regular capacity-building sessions conducted every six months, we continue to strengthen staff knowledge, reinforce organizational standards, and ensure that all team members uphold the values of dignity, respect, accountability, and zero tolerance for sexual exploitation and abuse.
The training also provided an opportunity to officially welcome Barrister Temitope Omololu, who recently joined the Trailblazer Initiative Nigeria team as Legal Officer. We are excited to have her on board and look forward to the expertise, professionalism, and passion she brings to advancing our work in policy advocacy, gender equality, child protection, safeguarding, and human rights.
Together, we remain committed to building a safer, more accountable, and more inclusive organization that protects the rights and wellbeing of all.
